At 5sterling.com, we actually operate multiple types
of web servers, each suited to the particular service they are
providing to our clients.
We only use high quality hardware and components, with dual and quad
core Intel and AMD processors, paired with generous amounts of RAM,
and using SATA and SCSI hard drives.
An example of our standard web hosting system is as follows:
● Intel Xeon Quad-core X3360 2.86Ghz CPU
● 4096MB DDRIII RAM
● 500GB Enterprise Standard SAS Hard Drive
● 100Mbps Ethernet Connection
Though you pay a budget price for your services with 5sterling.com, our
hardware is actually high cost in the short term, for the simple
reason it helps towards preventing problems in the long tem. The
less problems we have, the better for everyone!
For our Shoutcast servers, we are also planning to introduce new
eco-friendly Intel Atom based servers; these consume just 1/3 of the
energy of a
normal server, yet are plenty powerful to run Shoutcast servers
without any problem!
